Junior Generalist

The Human Resources Junior Generalist will partner with management and other members of the HR team to ensure delivery of quality human resource programs and services.  This team member actively delivers the full-cycle of HR services, including recruitment; new hire orientation and on-boarding; benefits and leave administration; HR information management and reporting; and compliance; and performance management.

Requirements: 

           Partner with program directors on recruitment strategies to attract and hire talent to the organization. 

           Oversee the processing of all employment paperwork to include applicable background screening and pre-employment testing. 

           Plan and facilitate new hire orientation program and on-boarding activities to assure a smooth transition to the organization.  

           Present various new hire orientation program topics (e.g. benefits; HR policies).

           Handle benefits administration including:  orientations; plan enrollment and change requests; benefit plan inquiries; and open enrollment.

           Serve as point of contact for management and employees regarding benefits and leave of absence questions.

           Coordinate leave requests and claims administration including: FMLA, disability and workers compensation. 

           Track and monitor performance evaluation program.

 Education/Qualifications:  

           Bachelor's degree

           Two to three years of Human Resources Administration experience, including recruitment, interviewing  experience a plus

           Good understanding of general HR practices and employment regulations

           Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail

            Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

           Discretion, understands the sensitive nature of confidential employee information

           Strong communication and interpersonal skills

           Excellent customer service and team orientation

           Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook; experience with an HRIS application a must

           Interest in health care and human services

           Demonstrated awareness of cultural competence

* Two to three days will require travel to programs located in the Bronx.
