Director of Supportive Housing

POSITION:                    Director of Supportive Housing


EXEMPT STATUS:        Exempt                                


REPORTS TO:              President & CEO and Vice President Chief Program Officer

BASIC FUNCTION:  Oversee the day-to-day operation of LESC supportive housing programs that include scattered site and congregate care for mixed-income as well as same population.  The Director assures that the programs operate efficiently and in compliance with the policies and procedures of HRA/HASA, HUD, DOHMH, OASAS, and all related funding sources.


Oversee the day-to-day operation of LESC supportive housing.  Work closely with CEO on continued housing developments and future housing developments.

Prepare specified reports and oversee program audits for all funding sources, i.e., HUD McKinney Vento Supportive Housing, HASA Congregate Supportive Service, Department of Health and Mental Hygiene New York/New York 111, and OASAS.

Direct projects, act as liaison with staff, partner with other organizations, and develop, implement and oversee supportive housing for low-income families and individuals living with Substance Use Disorder (SUD), HIV and AIDS-related illnesses.

Coordinate with Property Management regarding rents, compliance with building regulations and tax credit requirements.

Assess and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of service delivery to meet the changing needs of the population

Ensure in the appropriate intervention in crisis situations both from the perspective of a property manager and service provider.

Issue timely and accurate Human Resources Administration (HRA) program reports and records.

Supervise Directors of Diversity Works, Scatter Site Housing and Coordinator of LESC House

Participate in city-wide meetings/functions associated to Supportive Housing

Performs other duties as assigned.


Masters in Public Administration or Social Work and 5 years experience in development of supportive housing, grants, and contracts.  Individual must have supervisory experience and working knowledge of low-income housing, HUD and special needs housing.
